At Grapepoint Wines, our wine is carefully selected, focusing on hand harvested, small production and sustainable farming. Joanna is always on the hunt for the very best. She strives to offer a large selection of wines of diverse grape varietals and exceptional quality from different countries. You will find a descriptive tag with each bottle indicating region, tasting notes and price.
We truly care about the neighborhood and the folks who shop at our store. We want you to have a wonderful experience buying and enjoying your wine. We love to help you discover your palate by venturing into the unknown of new wine styles, regions and varietals. ABOUT THE SHOP
MEET JOANNA
A native of Greenpoint, Joanna Zablocki, the owner of Grapepoint Wines, doesn't strike you as your typical wine aficionado. A first generation Polish-American with a BA in Business Administration and Economics from the Smeal College of Business at Penn State, she was on her way down a very different career path until something happened in the summer of 2011 - while traveling in Spain and Portugal, her passion for wine asserted itself in a very "New York" kind of way, and she hasn't looked back since.
After receiving her advanced certification from the Wine and Spirit Education Trust (WSET), she opened Grapepoint Wines with the idea of bringing rare finds and real "gems" - especially wines with a great price-to-quality ratio - to her own backyard of Greenpoint. That's one reason you can always find a large selection, hand-picked by JOanna herself, on Grapepoint's two large '$20 and Under' tables and '2 for $20' bucket for your everyday wines.
Grapepoint is Joanna's leap of faith that her passion is contagious. Perhaps that's because she believes that wine is a wonderful adventure of discovering our own unique palate as we sip together, share together, compare notes together and, most importantly, celebrate together.
